INFLUENCE OF INJECTION STRATEGIES ON EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURES IN A BI-FUEL ENGINE

The article presents the test results of a SI engine alternatively LPG powered. Analysis of exhaust temperatures before catalytic converter has been carried for different engine speeds for stoichiometric mixtures and different injection strategies. The influence of the ignition timing on the engine power and exhaust gas temperatures was also determined. It has been shown that for stoichiometric mixtures the temperature values of the exhaust gases before the catalyst in the case of combustion of gaseous fuel are lower than those obtained for gasoline. It has also been noticed that the temperature values of exhaust gases leaving the engine cylinders differs by up to 50oC.
