Preferences of Students from the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering at Silesian University of Technology Regarding Internal Combustion Engines
The aim of this presentation is to showcase the results of a study conducted among students of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology, focusing on their preferences, opinions, and expectations concerning internal combustion engines. The analysis includes preferred engine types, anticipated directions of powertrain technology development, attitudes towards alternative systems (hybrid and electric), and the level of interest in internal combustion engine topics within the context of thesis work and student research projects. The presentation will also discuss conclusions related to technical education, the influence of market trends and environmental regulations on the perspectives of the next generation of engineers, as well as the projected role of internal combustion engines in the future of transport and aviation sectors.
