The impact of the Intelligent Power Management system on pollutant emissions in an agricultural tractor

The development of powertrains in non-road machines intended for agriculture is currently focused on reducing pollutant emissions and hybridizing power sources. Due to the specific operating conditions of this group of machines, their engines utilize the IPM (Intelligent Power Management) system. This system allows for an increase in available engine power when a significant rise in load is detected. In IPM mode, the engine\'s ECU controller increases the fuel dose, boost pressure, and injection timing advance to enhance engine power. This article discusses the operating conditions of the IPM system and its impact on pollutant emissions. The research was conducted on a stationary dynamometer – the brake was connected to the power take-off (PTO) shaft. Based on the results obtained, conclusions were drawn regarding the environmental impact of using IPM.
