Integrated Hydrogen-Argon Power Cycle to improve combustion efficiency

The paper presents the concept of increasing combustion efficiency in a diesel engine through the implementation of Hydrogen-Argon Power Cycle. An overview of current research covering the use of these gaseous fuels in internal combustion engines is presented. The selected barriers to implementation are identified and discussed. Economic, technical and legal aspects are considered. The potential opportunities and solutions are identified based on the selected case study. This research was conducted as part of the Integrated Hydrogen–Argon Power Cycle (iHAPC) project, co-funded by Business Finland (ref. 10309/31/2023).
